Glady's Foley, Volunteer of the Year 2019 recipient and Tim Mander MP
I am really proud of the hardworking volunteers across my electorate and it’s important they are acknowledged for their fantastic work in the many schools, clubs, sporting clubs and community organisations.
This year Gladys Foley from The Nest Community was the recipient of ‘Volunteer of the Year Award 2019. Gladys has worked as a volunteer for over 60 years and started volunteering at The Nest in 2016. Every week Gladys coordinates over 60 volunteers and donates haberdashery resources to over 38 other communities. Gladys is an inspirational senior leader and mentor and is well deserving of this award.
I want to congratulate other category winners:
Community Volunteer of the Year 2019 - Ian Anderson from Everton Park Scout Group
Sports Volunteer of the Year 2019 – Nick Elsey from Everton District Sporting Club and Everton Wolves
School Volunteer of the Year 2019 – Chrissie Faulkner from Northside Christian College
Young Volunteer of the Year 2019 – Joint Award: Jacob Mount from Mitchelton Day Club and Ryan Doolan from Everton District Sporting Club and Everton Wolves
I look forward to hosting this event again next year and want to thank all of those who were nominated for their outstanding work in the community.
