LOCAL ISSUES
As your local State Member of Parliament, and member of the Opposition, Tim is here to represent you and raise the issues that matter locally and state wide.
Part of Tim's role is to keep the current State Labor Government to account and fight and deliver for the people in the Everton electorate.
Here are just some of the issues Tim has been fighting for...
Old Northern Road
Old Northern Road (Rode Road to Jinker Track) is a major arterial road for North-West traffic flow in and out of Brisbane. It is imperative the road condition is maintained to a high standard.
I have written to the Minister for Traffic and Main Roads, Mark Bailey, requesting for this road to be reconditioned as a priority. The road is deteriorating badly, there is a lot of patchwork, and the road is starting to fall apart.
This must be addressed for the safety of motorists. With the upcoming budget, I have asked for the Minister to allocate these much-needed funds. To date, the Minister has not committed to funding this urgent project. I will keep putting the pressure on until these issues are resolved.

Fighting for Safety
Old Northern Road, Everton Park, is a major road which has thousands of cars travelling on it every day.
The section outside Everton Park State School (where it intersects Dargie Street) is notorious for accidents and dangerous driver behaviour.
To ensure the safety of children when walking to and from school, we request that a pedestrian overpass be constructed over Old Northern Road.
This will not only ensure the safety of our children but save valuable school resources which are required to supervise road crossings.
Sign the petition today and support this much needed upgrade.

South Pine Rd & Stafford Rd Intersection
At the last election, I committed $100m to fund the upgrade of South Pine Road and Stafford Road in Everton Park. The plans to upgrade this intersection have been around for 10 years, and the State Labor Government refuses to fund this upgrade.
Stage 1 of this upgrade, Everton Park Link Road, has been completed, but there will be no advantage from this road until we get the funding for stage 2, to upgrade the South Pine Road and Stafford Road intersection.
This bottleneck causes enormous congestion and I have continued to apply pressure to the Minister for Transport and Main Roads, Mark Bailey, to fix this road for the safety of residents, pedestrians, and motorists. I have urged the Minister again, to fund this upgrade in the upcoming budget.
I won’t stop fighting until stage 2 of this upgrade is completed.

Fighting for Funding -
The Nest Community
The Nest Community is a volunteer-led organisation with the focus of building resilience and connected communities.
Women from all over the community gather to exchange traditional skills such as; knitting, sewing and gardening which reduces social isolation and improves health and well-being.
The Nest receives no Government support and I am fighting for funding to keep this vital service for women going.

DELIVERED! Everton Park Link Road
Finally, after many years of applying pressure on the State Labor Government, the Everton Park Link Road (Stage 1) is NOW OPEN.
This new link road will provide an alternative route between Stafford and South Pine Roads which will relieve congestion at the main intersection.
Bike riders will also benefit from dedicated facilities including a direct link to the Kedron Brook Bikeway.
Whilst this is a positive
development, more effective traffic relief will only be achieved if the State Labor Government funds stage 2 which is the direct upgrade of the notorious Stafford and South Pine Roads intersection.

DELIVERED! Upgrade at Albany Creek Rd
Since 2015, I’ve written to the Minister requesting an urgent upgrade to the intersection of Albany Creek Rd, Ferguson Street and Wruck Crescent at Albany Creek.
Serious crashes have occurred at this intersection and residents have shared their concerns about the many near misses and safety concerns for both motorists and pedestrians.
After years of putting pressure on this Government, this upgrade has been delivered.

DELIVERED! Everton Park Crash Black Spot
Residents had cars crashing through their front fences and were literally living in fear.
After urging the Minister for Traffic and Main Roads, Mark Bailey, for several years to fix this stretch of road, I finally got some results!
This upgrade is now complete
with works including a minor realignment of the road, improvements to road drainage, new road surfacing and installation of a new kerb.
